六合彩 (Mark Six / liùhécǎi) is a lottery organized in Hong Kong. Mark Six is akin to the Pick-6 lotteries prevalent in the U.S.

Why it is blocked: The general word for lottery (彩票 / cǎipiào) is unblocked, however, this regional Cantonese version is. All gambling was officially banned by the CCP in 1949 for its immoral and supposed colonial influences (despite the fact that China has a long history of gambling, including supposedly having “invented” the state lottery, with Keno slips from the Chinese Han Dynasty believed to have helped finance the building of the Great Wall). However, cracks began to show when China instituted a pair of state lotteries for the public welfare in 1987 and permitted horse betting in Wuhan in 2003.
